Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer Intern in Charlotte, NC. You will join a project team to design or modify power plant systems, blending electrical and mechanical engineering with control theory.

Under senior guidance, you’ll apply knowledge of sensors, digital controllers, and process instrumentation to improve plant functionality. Responsibilities include calculations, specifications, and project reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering with strong control systems coursework.
• Enrollment in ABET-accredited program preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Work on project reporting, tracking activities, and progress data.
