Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer Intern to support a project team on power plant systems, blending electrical, mechanical engineering and control theory. The internship starts in summer 2027 and provides hands-on design and analysis tasks.

Under senior engineer guidance, you will assist with engineering calculations, specifications, and design work, and develop skills in analog/digital control, systems engineering, mechatronics, or robotics.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering with strong coursework in analog and digital control systems, systems engineering, mechatronics, or robotics.
• Enrollment in an ABET-accredited program is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; MS Office proficiency.

• Assist in engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Support project reporting, tracking progress and data.
