Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer for nuclear power applications. The role focuses on design modification, digital upgrades, and compliance with NRC standards, working with cross-functional teams and Senior/Responsible Engineers.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in engineering and at least 5 years in I&C, with nuclear plant experience, PLC/DCS familiarity, and experience implementing plant modernization projects such as protective relays, turbine controls, and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
5+ years of engineering experience in Instrumentation & Controls.
Experience in I&C engineering at a nuclear power plant or equivalent environment.
Experience with digital upgrade initiatives and NRC regulations to I&C projects.
Strong understanding of plant modification processes and nuclear industry design modification procedures.
Hands-on experience with process instrumentation and control strategies.

Responsibilities

Support I&C modification projects from scope through implementation per nuclear modification processes.
Perform engineering evaluations, calculations, and analyses to support design decisions.
Develop, update, and revise design documents, drawings, and wiring diagrams for I&C systems.
Assist with digital modernization projects upgrading legacy analog to digital control technologies (PLC/DCS).
Review vendor docs and submittals for accuracy and compliance with requirements.
Support field walkdowns to verify as-built conditions and installation feasibility.
Assist with testing, troubleshooting, and plant implementation activities.
Coordinate with senior engineers, designers, field services, management, and client personnel to meet objectives.
