Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Group is seeking an Intermediate Nuclear Engineer Energy – Remote, based in Oak Ridge, TN. The role leads nuclear safety licensing activities and coordinates cross-disciplinary analyses to ensure regulatory compliance.

Strong emphasis on SMR design, criticality safety, shielding, and safety basis development is required. The position requires 3+ years of nuclear engineering experience, expertise with MCNP/SCALE/Serpent, and familiarity with NRC/DOE/IAN safety standards.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Requires 3 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree.
• Experience in nuclear industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate technical work supporting US nuclear safety licensing activities.
• Author, review, and approve technical documentation including safety analyses and evaluation reports.
• Support licensing initiatives by assisting with safety basis documents.
• Participate in hazard analyses, process design reviews, and configuration management.
