Job summary

Candu Energy is seeking an Intermediate Nuclear Engineer Energy - Remote, based in Oak Ridge, TN. This role leads nuclear engineering activities focused on SMR design, licensing, and safety analyses, requiring at least 3 years of experience and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.

You will apply neutronics, shielding, and regulatory expertise, leveraging MCNP, SCALE, Attila4MC, and Serpent to deliver compliant technical solutions for US and international licensing efforts.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering; Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
• 3+ years of nuclear engineering experience.
• Experience with SMR designs and licensing activities.
• Knowledge of NRC/DOE/IAEA standards and guides.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate technical work supporting US nuclear safety licensing activities.
• Author, review, and approve technical documentation and safety analyses/evaluation reports.
• Support licensing initiatives by preparing safety basis documents.
• Participate in hazard analyses, design reviews, and configuration management.
