AtkinsRéalis seeks a Senior Nuclear Engineer Energy for a remote-based role rooted in Oak Ridge, TN. You will lead nuclear safety analyses, licensing strategies, and cross-disciplinary coordination to ensure regulatory compliance and safe operation of SMR-related projects.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in nuclear engineering, with strong expertise in MCNP/SCALE/Serpent and a proven track record in safety basis documentation and regulatory submissions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of nuclear engineering experience with a bachelor's degree.
• Experience leading technical work for US nuclear safety licensing.
• Experience with SMR designs and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate nuclear safety licensing activities.
• Author, review, and approve safety analyses and reports.
• Support licensing by preparing safety basis documents.
• Lead NCSEs and NCSAs for fuel handling, storage, and transport.
• Develop shielding designs and conduct radiation-transport analyses.
