Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a seasoned nuclear engineer to lead and support the execution of advanced reactor and SMR designs. You will ensure the smooth flow of technical deliverables and nuclear safety information across engineering disciplines.

The role requires strong leadership in neutronics, shielding, and regulatory compliance, with hands-on use of established neutron transport codes. A senior-level professional with NRC/DOE/IAEA familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering with 7+ years of experience; Master's or Ph.D. preferred with 5 years.
• Hands-on proficiency with MCNP, SCALE/KENO, Attila4MC, or Serpent codes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of NRC, DOE, and IAEA regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Author, review, and approve nuclear safety analyses, licensing documents, and criticality safety evaluations.
• Establish and validate criticality safety limits and engineered controls for SMR systems.
• Perform radiation shielding designs and radiation-transport analyses to ensure operational safety.
