Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a Senior Nuclear Engineer Energy for a remote role based out of Oak Ridge, TN. The candidate will lead licensing activities, author analyses, and oversee cross-disciplinary nuclear safety work across SMR projects.

Required are 7+ years in nuclear engineering, experience with NRC/DOE/IAEA frameworks, and proficiency in MCNP/ SCALE/Attila4MC. Strong leadership and regulatory writing are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Nuclear Engineering or related field; Master’s/PhD preferred.
• 7+ years of nuclear engineering experience; SMR exposure desirable.
• Experience with US NRC/DOE/IAEA regulatory frameworks.
• Strong technical writing and safety basis documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate technical work supporting US nuclear safety licensing.
• Author, review, and approve safety analyses and evaluation reports.
• Support licensing initiatives with safety basis documentation.
• Participate in hazard analyses and design reviews.
• Lead NCSEs and NCSAs for fuel handling and transport.
• Develop shielding designs and conduct radiation-transport analyses.
