Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering leader to drive multi-disciplinary projects in the nuclear power sector. You will oversee detailed design phases, develop scope, costs, and schedules, and provide technical oversight for design changes and equipment selection.

The role requires nuclear access eligibility and strong client liaison skills. The position emphasizes leading a group, coordinating with other disciplines, and delivering high-quality engineered solutions

Qualifications

• Essential skills and experience include a BSEE from ABET-accredited program and 10 years designing electrical systems for nuclear power plants.
• Leading an engineering design group through all project phases for 3+ years is required.
• Experience selecting equipment and preparing design change packages, calculations, and specifications.
• Ability to serve as a firm/client liaison in a lead engineering role.
• Experience with electrical system design including low and medium voltage distribution (transformers, generators, motors, relays).
• Strong written and verbal communication to convey information to project teams and clients.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Detail oriented approach to work and ability to be badged for nuclear access.
• PE licensure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the group to complete electrical engineering project deliverables within technical, quality, financial, and controls expectations.
• Initiate and convey scope of work; define deliverables (calcs, specs, drawings, design changes).
• Review status and track progress to maintain scope and budget; inform client.
• Hold routine status meetings and submit progress reports.
• Track and resolve open items and emergent issues; coordinate deliverables with other disciplines.
• Provide technical oversight for electrical design, including change packages and equipment specs.
• Develop project scope, cost estimates, and schedules for complex electrical modifications at nuclear plants.
• Prepare/coordinate multi-discipline proposals.
