Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an experienced electrical engineering leader to head a group on challenging nuclear power plant projects, coordinating multi-discipline interfaces and delivering design change packages.

You will guide scope, estimates, schedules, and provide technical oversight while mentoring staff and ensuring client satisfaction through clear communication and robust project controls. This role is based in the United States and may require plant access.

Qualifications

• BSEE degree from ABET-accredited program.
• Ten+ years designing electrical systems for nuclear plants.
• 3+ years leading an engineering design group.
• Experience selecting equipment and preparing design change packages.
• Experience as firm/client liaison in engineering roles.
• Electrical system design including low/medium voltage distribution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Detail oriented approach to work.
• Able to be badged for unescorted access to a nuclear station.
• PE Licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts by group members to ensure successful completion of electrical project deliverables.
• Initiate and convey scope of work to group members.
• Define deliverables (calcs, specs, drawings, design changes).
• Review status and track progress to maintain scope/budget and inform client.
• Lead routine status meetings and submit progress reports.
• Track and resolve open items and emergent issues.
• Coordinate completion of project deliverables across disciplines.
• Lead detailed design phases for electrical work and interfaces with other disciplines.
• Develop scope, cost estimates, and schedules for complex nuclear modifications.
• Develop proposals for complex electrical modifications at nuclear plants.
• Provide technical oversight for electrical activities including change packages, calculations, and equipment specs.
• Bid review and vendor response processes; interface with client to validate scope.
• Mentor and develop group members; identify opportunities with clients.
• Prepare and coordinate multi-discipline proposals.
