Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Manager in the Industry Specialty Services Group to provide senior nonprofit financial services and consulting to organizations and funders. The role emphasizes mission-aligned accounting, capacity building, and virtual as well as local support.

You will guide engagement teams, manage transitional services, and help clients achieve financial sustainability through disciplined budgeting, reporting, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) or more years of demonstrated accounting experience with a specific focus on nonprofits
• Experience with accounting systems and nonprofit accounting principles
• Supervisory/management experience
• CPA, preferred

Responsibilities

• Acts as a key team member in the transitional services practice area, providing senior level financial management to nonprofits undergoing change
• Oversees month-end close, audit support, budgeting and cash flow planning
• Advises leadership and boards with clear, accessible financial analysis and reporting
• Ensures compliance with nonprofit reporting standards and regulatory requirements
• Assesses financial sustainability and advises on processes and systems improvements
• Oversees grant billing, budgeting, and reporting for private, federal, and state funders
• Develops client relationships and coaches staff through training and guidance
