Job summary

BDO USA's Industry Specialty Services Group seeks a Manager to provide senior nonprofit financial management, change management, and consulting services to nonprofits and funders, with opportunities both locally and virtually.

The role emphasizes building client relationships, leading engagements, supervising consultants, and contributing to business development, with responsibilities spanning month-end close, grant compliance, budgeting, and reporting to boards.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) or more years of demonstrated accounting experience with a specific focus on nonprofits, required
• Experience with accounting systems and nonprofit accounting principles, required
• Supervisory/management experience, required
• CPA, preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides senior level financial management services to nonprofits undergoing organizational change
• Oversees month-end close, audit support, budgeting, cash flow planning, and financial system implementation
• Supports leadership and Boards in financial decisions and communicates complex financial information
• Ensures compliance with nonprofit financial reporting standards
• Assesses infrastructure and advises on financial sustainability
• Oversees grant compliance including billing, budgeting, and reporting to agencies
• Analyzes processes and recommends best accounting practices
