Job summary

Velocity Technologies is seeking a NOC Engineer to monitor client networks, servers and endpoints, ensuring alerts are triaged and escalated properly. You will validate backups, patch health, and monitoring coverage according to Velocity standards, while producing clear escalation notes for engineers, vendors, and clients.

The role involves contributing to runbooks and improving alert tuning after recurring incidents to prevent disruption across managed environments.

Qualifications

• Experience with network monitoring, alert triage, and ticket queues.
• Working knowledge of firewalls, switches, wireless, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and endpoint/server monitoring.
• Comfort interpreting backup, patch, and endpoint alerts.
• Strong written escalation notes and incident timelines.

Responsibilities

• Monitor client networks, servers, endpoints, backup jobs, and alert queues for actionable events.
• Troubleshoot SonicWall, Fortinet, Ubiquiti, switching, wireless, VPN, and ISP-related issues.
• Validate backups, DR alerts, patch health, and monitoring coverage against Velocity standards.
• Create clear escalations for systems engineers, vendors, and client stakeholders.
• Contribute to runbooks, alert tuning, and standards alignment after recurring incidents.
