Job summary

Sysco is seeking a Night Shift Transportation Supervisor to support the Transportation Manager/Director in supervising delivery and backhaul operations. You will train and supervise transportation staff, ensure compliance with DOT and other regulations, and promote safety across the department.

The role requires overseeing daily routes, discipline, scheduling, and collaboration with warehouse and customer service teams to address delivery challenges.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 2–4 years transportation experience or equivalent.
• Two- or four-year college degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or similar major preferred.
• CDL Class A license is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily work and safety of Transportation Associates and ensure SOPs and safety standards are followed.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regs (DOT, OSHA) and that electronic logs are current.
• Manage labor hours and supplies within budget; prepare schedules including extra days and shifts.
• Assist training of new and existing associates, including cross-training.
• Oversee use of company assets; coordinate repairs as needed.
• Review delivery functions and productivity; suggest and implement efficiency improvements.
• Interpret and enforce company policies and procedures, including food safety and DOT rules.
• Communicate with Warehouse and Customer Service teams to resolve issues and meet delivery needs.
• Maintain positive associate relations through pre-shift meetings and open communication.
• Support Safety Manager with training, observations, safety inspections and root-cause investigations.
• Perform staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews and terminations.
• Operate within assigned schedule; cover duties as needed and travel to other centers when required.
