Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to support the manager in delivering and backhaul supervision. You will train and supervise transportation staff, ensure compliance with regulations, and promote safety within the department.

The role involves coordinating routes, maintaining logs, overseeing budgets, and collaborating with warehouse and customer service teams to address delivery challenges. Strong knowledge of DOT/OSHA rules and SOPs is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 2-4 years of transportation experience.
• Class A CDL preferred but not required.
• Certificate of DOT regulations training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the daily work and safety of transportation associates, ensuring SOPs, food safety standards, and efficient customer service.
• Ensures compliance with DOT, OSHA, and other regulations; maintains electronic logs.
• Manages labor hours and supplies within budget; prepares work schedules.
• Assists with training of new associates and cross-training of others.
• Directs asset use and coordinates repairs as needed.
• Reviews delivery functions and productivity reports; suggests improvements.
• Trains and enforces company policies and procedures across the team.
• Communicates with warehouse and customer service to resolve delivery issues.
• Visits customer locations to address issues and assess delivery difficulty.
• Maintains associate relations and morale; conducts shift communications.
• Works with safety manager on training, observations and incident investigations.
• Performs staff selection, development, discipline, and performance reviews.
