Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a fully trained Shop Mechanic II to perform extensive diesel repairs and trailer refrigeration maintenance. This role requires diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues, performing alignments, and reading service bulletins for proper procedure.

You will work in a team-driven shop with shift from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, receive comprehensive benefits starting day 60, and have opportunities for professional growth and on-call road support when needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; trade school in heavy-duty diesel repairs and/or refrigeration preferred.
• 2 years of diesel repair experience on tractors/trailers and refrigeration maintenance.
• Valid Class C driver's license; Class A preferred but not required.
• Must obtain ASE PMI certification within 1 year from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform the functions of a Grade 4 Mechanic.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs on trailer refrigeration systems.
• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs, including complex tasks.
• Diagnose, repair, replace or rebuild components such as clutches, pumps, brakes, and drive lines.
• Read service bulletins and manuals; complete all paperwork and input data.
• Maintain tools and operate equipment safely; participate in on-call rotation and road calls as needed.
