Job summary

WSP is seeking a Traffic Management Center Technician I to monitor ITS devices and traffic control systems from our Nashville, TN office. The role covers night and weekend shifts, with both full-time and part-time openings.

You will support TDOT coordination, collect data, and help manage roadway incidents and special events. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 0–2 years in a TMC/traffic management setting, strong communication, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required.
• 0–2 years of experience with a TMC-type facility or traffic management.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Computer software proficiency including MS Office applications.
• Analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with TDOT staff and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide human monitoring and operation of ITS devices and traffic control devices per SOPs.
• Traffic Incident Management and coordination of roadway responses.
• Enter data for incidents, events, and call logs.
• Assist in data collection and troubleshooting for system performance.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and document device failures; issue repair work orders.
• Receive notices of roadwork and incidents and coordinate department responses.
