Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional to guide daily operations, staff development, and high-quality customer service. You will mentor teams across departments, manage staffing and training, and drive sales while maintaining store standards.

A strong focus on safety and attendance is expected in this pivotal role. You will oversee P&L, implement customer-first initiatives, and promote career growth through Meijer development programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce and deli areas; customer service and product flow helpful.
• Strong communication and direction to team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Experience analyzing financial and statistical information to inform decisions; suggestive selling.
• Ability to mentor team members including hourly staff and SDITs.
• Successful completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning and development for team members.
• Documents disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, sales targets, and shrink control.
• Models fast, friendly customer service.
• Communicates the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings.
• Mentors team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Ensures training is completed for all team members.
• Spends most time in-store engaging with customers and teammates.
• Maintains safe work environment.
• Ensures reliable and consistent attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
