Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Store Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, mentor staff, and drive sales while maintaining company standards. You will staff, select, and coach team members, implement customer-focused strategies, and ensure safety and compliance across shifts.

The role emphasizes leadership, development pathways for employees, and accountability for P&L and shrink reduction, with a focus on exceptional service during peak shopping hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years retail experience.
• 1 year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments across store areas helpful.
• Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet service and sales goals.
• Implement strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Maintain store appearance and adherence to company standards during prime hours.
• Disciplinary actions and performance issues as needed.
• Responsible for P&L and shrink management.
• Promote Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and interactions.
• Ensure team is trained and communicates effectively with customers.
