Job summary

Meijer in Kentucky seeks an experienced retail leader to oversee store operations, coach staff, and ensure excellent customer service and sales performance. You will manage staffing, training, and adherence to company standards across departments to deliver a smooth shopping experience.

The role emphasizes leadership, training, and operational excellence with growth opportunities within Meijer Rewards programs. A high school diploma and 1–3 years of management experience in retail are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) | helpful for customer service and product flow.
• Ability to communicate clearly and provide direction to team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information for decisions.
• Willingness to mentor team members including hourly staff and SDITs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise team members in daily store operations across departments.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Implement strategies to improve customer service and store performance while maintaining standards.
• Staffing, selection, and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and provide career development opportunities.
• Document disciplinary actions and make recommendations on terminations.
• Maintain P&L focus and shrink reduction within the department.
• Ensure staff are trained and that training is completed.
