Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
• Strong understanding of store operations and total store merchandising techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to learn multiple tasks.
• Must meet minimum age requirements and physical requirements.
• Certified Food Safety Manager or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with day-to-day operations.
• Hire, train, and develop associates.
• Manage performance through coaching, appraisal and disciplinary efforts.
• Maintain atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness and service.
• Provide leadership reflecting Food Lion's Principles and Values.
• Control store funds and assets; ensure safety and food safety standards.
• Inspect compliance with policies, security, and procedures.
• Utilize financial reports, inventory systems, scheduling, and ordering.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Maximize sales through customer service and minimize shrink via standard practices.
• Ensure staffing across departments meets business needs.
