Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
• Strong understanding of store operations and total store merchandising techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Good judgment in problem solving, decision making and handling conflicts.
• Ability to lead and manage associates across multiple departments.
• Must meet minimum age requirements for the role.
• Accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or willing to complete required training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with day-to-day operations.
• Hire, train, and develop store associates.
• Manage performance via coaching, appraisals, and disciplinary actions.
• Maintain a customer-focused atmosphere with fast, easy service.
• Provide leadership that reflects Food Lion's guiding principles and values.
• Control store funds and company assets.
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions.
• Ensure compliance with policies, safety and food safety standards.
• Utilize tools like ACIS, CAO and BI systems for scheduling, inventory and reporting.
• Support achievement of store budgeted results.
• Maximize sales and minimize shrink through best practices.
