Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Department Manager or equivalent experience required
• Strong understanding of store operations and total store merchandising techniques
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements
• Good judgement in solving problems, making decisions, handling complaints and resolving grievances
• Desire and ability to lead and manage associates across departments
• Must meet minimum age requirements for specific job functions
• Must meet physical requirements of the position with/without accommodations
• Accreditation by National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or be eligible for required training within 90 days
• Accreditation must be maintained while employed in positions requiring accreditation

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with day-to-day operations of the entire store
• Responsible for hiring, training, and developing associates
• Manage performance through coaching, appraisal and disciplinary efforts
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with focus on fast and easy service
• Provide leadership to promote Food Lion's guiding principles and values
• Ensure proper control of store funds and assets
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and ensure compliance with policies and safety standards
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS, scheduling, CAO, and reporting systems
• Support achievement of store budgeted financial and operating results
• Maximize sales through customer service and minimize shrink with loss-prevention practices
• Ensure staffing schedules meet business needs and communicate with team
• Engage with associates to ensure tools and training for success
• Complete required CBT and training materials
