Job summary

Cheney Brothers is seeking a Shuttle Driver for the night shift to move empty trailers to warehouse locations and deliver full trailers safely under DOT rules. The role requires inspecting equipment, hooking/unhooking, and accurate hours-of-service logging.

Drive tandem/tractor/straight trucks on intrastate routes, handle loads ~60–90 lbs, and cooperate with dispatch and customers. CDL A with Doubles endorsement and DOT health card required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 12 months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Work 3rd shift schedule, Sunday-Thursday nights.
• Pass pre-employment drug test.
• Pass road test and DOT Health Card.
• Able to lift and move freight up to 60–90 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations.
• Report safety issues and needed repairs.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Inspect trailers for proper loading and securing freight.
• Ensure route paperwork is complete and accessible.
• Drive and deliver trailers per schedule.
• Perform hook/unhook procedures safely.
• Park and store trailers in designated areas.
• Secure equipment and freight at all times.
• Handle damaged goods and returns; complete paperwork.
• Complete daily hours-of-service logs.
• Maintain clean tractor/trailer areas and perform housekeeping.
• Other related duties as assigned.
