The role requires RRT credentials, NC licensure, and BLS; you will deliver oxygen therapy, operate ventilators, and monitor patients in a high-acuity setting.

Experience in critical care is valued; the position supports care across departments with EMR experience and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner/RT in the state.
• Basic Life Support for healthcare providers required.
• Advanced certification per facility/department.
• Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy; associate degree required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge in oxygen delivery modes and equipment and conducts prescribed therapies.
• Administers therapeutic procedures and explains purpose and benefits.
• Performs diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Operates mechanical and non-invasive ventilators.
• Evaluates therapies and makes care-plan recommendations.
• Documents therapy and results per guidelines.
• Communicates with the healthcare team.
• Initiates and adjusts respiratory techniques in emergencies.
• Performs and interprets blood gas analyses.
• Works independently across patient care areas and supports colleagues.
• Proficient with the EMR interface with Respiratory Care.
• Follows safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements.
• Completes annual proficiency evaluations for equipment and procedures.
