Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for full-time night shift in North Carolina. This night position offers a sign-on bonus and requires NBRC-credentialed RRT, current state license, and BLS.

Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy program with an associate degree is required; a BA/BS or higher is preferred. 36 hours/week with a 36-hour schedule and a pay range reflecting hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
• Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy required (or equivalent experience). BA/BS or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge in oxygen delivery methods and related equipment; conducts prescribed therapeutic procedures.
• Administers and explains therapeutic procedures and possible effects; performs diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Initiates and monitors mechanical and non-invasive ventilators; understands critical care duties.
• Evaluates current therapies using clinical judgment and protocols; makes care-plan recommendations.
• Documents therapy and results; communicates with the healthcare team.
• Initiates and conducts respiratory care techniques in emergency settings; performs arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation.
• Works independently in all patient care areas; proficient in EMR and data interfaces.
• Follows safety guidelines; completes regulatory requirements and annual proficiency evaluations.
