Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist to join the Cabarrus Respiratory Therapy Services team in North Carolina. You will administer and monitor oxygen delivery, operate mechanical and non-invasive ventilators, and assess patient response to therapy in accordance with policy and procedure.

This role requires NBRC-registered credentials, state licensure, and BLS, with a sign-on bonus eligible for night shifts.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialed by NBRC and licensed as Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certification per facility.
• Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy; Associate’s degree required; BA/BS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery modes and equipment and conducts prescribed therapies.
• Administers and monitors therapeutic procedures and conducts diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Initiates and maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilation; understands critical care duties.
• Evaluates therapies with proper judgment; makes plan-of-care recommendations.
• Documents therapy results and communicates with health team; uses EMR effectively.
• Performs and evaluates blood gas sampling; understands abnormal results and treatment.
• Works independently across patient care areas; supports colleagues as needed.
• Follows safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements.
