Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an experienced RN for the Intermediate Care Unit (Medical Unit V) at the New Brunswick campus. The IMCU RN will provide high-quality care for patients requiring closer monitoring and coordinate care with physicians and staff.

Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, safe medication administration, and robust education for patients and families. The role offers a part-time night shift (7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.) with weekend rotations and EMR experience is

Qualifications

Requires an active New Jersey RN license and current BLS certification.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing strongly preferred or to be completed within 5 years of hire.
National Board Certification and ACLS preferred or to be obtained within 6 months of employment.
1 year of acute care RN experience is required; EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and detect clinical changes early; intervene and advocate for patients.
Administer safe, evidence-based medications and treatments with strong clinical judgment.
Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers to coordinate timely care decisions.
Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately for ongoing care.
Document accurately in the electronic medical record to ensure continuity and safety.
