Job summary

Wellstar Health System invites a capable RN to join the Emergency Department as a Patient Flow Coordinator. The role is full-time with a night shift (7 pm–7 am) and weekend differential. The coordinator will lead patient flow, supervise placement, and collaborate across ED staff, bed management, and related departments.

The ideal candidate has RN licensure, an associate degree in nursing (BSN preferred), and strong communication skills. BLS, ACLS, and ED experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in nursing is required; BSN preferred.
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written) are required.
• Proficiency with desktop computer required.
• Demonstrate willingness to be a team-player and a self-starter.
• Proficiency obtaining vital signs using manual processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure care respects patient rights, preferences and expectations.
• Participate in policy and process formulation impacting patient flow.
• Provide objective staff performance feedback to ED leadership.
• Routinely round in triage, waiting rooms and patient rooms for patient flow oversight.
• Serve as liaison between Bed Management, ED providers, nursing, case management and other departments.
