Job summary

Wellstar Health System seeks an experienced RN to join the Emergency Department as a Patient Flow Coordinator. This full-time night shift role focuses on coordinating patient placement, improving throughput, and ensuring care respects patient rights while collaborating with ED teams.

Responsibilities include rounding, acting as liaison with bed management, ED providers, case management, environmental services, and other departments to optimize throughput, while ensuring high-quality, safe

Qualifications

• RN with Associate's Degree in nursing; BSN preferred.
• Active RN license and BLS certification.
• ACLS certification; Trauma Nurse Core Course preferred.
• ED experience and charge nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure care respects patient rights, preferences and expectations.
• Participate in policy and process formulation related to patient flow goals.
• Provide feedback to ED leadership on practices affecting patient flow, safety, and standards.
• Round throughout the ED to oversee patient flow.
• Liaise between Bed Management, ED providers, nursing, case management, and other departments to assure timely placement.
• Organize work environment and teams to optimize unit outcomes and patient flow.
• Supervise patient placement and flow with clear leadership and prioritization.
• Maintain constant oversight of the ED tracking board for throughput.
• Provide regular throughput feedback via huddles, de-briefings, and reports.
