Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia is seeking a dedicated RN to work as a Patient Flow Coordinator in the Emergency Department on the night shift (7 pm – 7 am). This full-time role emphasizes patient flow, throughput, and coordination with ED teams to support efficient care delivery.

The ideal candidate will hold an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a current RN license, BLS certification, and preferably ACLS. Prior ED experience and a history as a charge nurse are highly valued as you help optimize

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in nursing required; RN license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• ED experience and charge nurse experience preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure care respects patient rights, preferences and expectations.
• Participate in policy/procedure decisions impacting patient flow.
• Provide objective staff performance feedback to ED leadership.
• Conduct regular rounding in triage, waiting areas, and patient rooms to monitor flow.
• Serve as liaison between Bed Management, ED providers, nursing, case management and other departments to ensure timely patient placement.
• Coordinate patient flow into and out of the ED and supervise staff leadership.
• Provide leadership and prioritize tasks to maintain patient throughput and experience.
• Deliver feedback on patient throughput through huddles, short debriefings and reports.
