Wellstar Health System in Georgia is seeking a Patient Flow Coordinator (RN) for the Emergency Department on the night shift (7 pm – 7 am) with weekend Premier Differential. The role focuses on maximizing patient throughput, coordinating bed management and ED operations while maintaining patient rights and safety.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Effective communication skills required; ability to document and convey information clearly.
• Proficient with basic desktop computer systems and electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Ensure care respects patient rights, preferences and expectations.
• Participate in policy and process formulation affecting patient flow.
• Provide staff performance feedback related to patient flow, safety and ethics.
• Circulate in ED to oversee patient flow and throughput.
• Serve as liaison between Bed Management, ED, nursing, case management and other departments.
• Coordinate patient flow into and out of the ED and organize care teams.
• Provide leadership through prioritization and communication across disciplines.
• Monitor ED tracking board and report on patient throughput and outcomes.
• Offer guidance to staff and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
