Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking a PLC Controls Engineer for a 2-2-3 night shift in Goodyear, AZ. The role focuses on providing on-site automation support, diagnosing PLC/HMI issues, and leading controls projects to boost safety and throughput.

You will mentor technicians and collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering to ensure reliable production across high-speed beverage packaging lines. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology or related field; relevant experience may be considered.
• At least four years in industrial automation or controls in high-speed manufacturing.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities is required.
• Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networks helpful.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for production equipment.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, and network issues.
• Develop and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality, and throughput.
• Maintain backups, drawings, and change records; support commissioning and upgrades.
• Mentor maintenance technicians and operators; lead continuous-improvement efforts.
