Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking a PLC Controls Engineer for a Glendale, AZ night shift role. You will serve as the on-shift controls expert, providing Tier 1 and 2 troubleshooting for high-speed beverage production equipment and leading controls-focused improvements.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in engineering technology and 4+ years in industrial automation, with strong PLC, HMI, and network skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology or related field; 4+ years in industrial automation.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
• Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networks.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings; communicate across plant teams.
• Willingness to work a 2-2-3 night shift (6:00 PM–6:00 AM).
• Experience mentoring maintenance staff and leading small projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-shift controls and automation expert for production lines.
• Provide Tier 1 and 2 troubleshooting for PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and networks.
• Diagnose equipment issues; implement permanent corrective actions.
• Develop and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality, and throughput.
• Support commissioning, upgrades, and system integration efforts.
• Provide training and mentorship to technicians and operators.
