Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking an experienced PLC Controls Engineer for the Glendale, AZ facility. You will lead on-shift automation, troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, drives, and motion systems, and collaborate with operations and maintenance to improve reliability and throughput.

The role requires an associate degree in engineering technology or equivalent, 4+ years in a high-speed manufacturing environment, and strong communication across departments.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology or related field.
• 4+ years in industrial automation or controls in high-speed manufacturing.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Willingness to work a 2-2-3 night shift.
• Excellent cross-department communication.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-shift controls expert for production, processing and packaging lines.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting support.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, and network issues.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and restore production safely and efficiently.
• Identify recurring problems and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Mentor maintenance technicians and operators; maintain backups and docs.
