Job summary

Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Float Pool (NICU/PICU/Peds) on the night shift. The RN will assess patients, administer meds, and collaborate with physicians to coordinate care in a high-acuity pediatric setting.

Active NJ RN license and BLS required; BSN preferred. Experience in ER/PEDS and EPIC EMR is advantageous. 36-hour work week with 7p-7:30a and rotating weekends/holidays. Benefit packages are comprehensive and competitive.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active New Jersey RN license and a current BLS certification.
• BSN preferred; prior pediatric emergency care experience is advantageous.
• Shift is 7p–7:30a with every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients comprehensively and recognize subtle clinical changes.
• Administer medications and provide hands-on care per policy.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams to coordinate treatment.
• Educate patients and families to ensure understanding of care plans.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record to maintain continuity of care.
• Participate in rounds and contribute to safe, efficient transitions of care.
