UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Patient Care Technician III to support the Emergency Department. Under licensed clinicians, you provide patient care, assist with treatments, monitor patients, and help ensure safety and comfort.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, current Basic Life Support, and 1 year in acute care or EMT Paramedic experience. Proficiency in English, medical terminology, and basic computer skills is essential.

• 1 year of acute care/hospital experience or EMT Paramedic experience.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Mansioni

• Provide clear, timely communication to the RN about patient observations.
• Maintain constant observation of high‑risk patients as assigned.
• Assist in developing and maintaining a safe environment and de-escalate as needed.
• Assist patients with daily living activities such as hygiene, ambulation, and nourishment.
• Move, lift, position, and transport patients using proper safety techniques.
• Record vital signs, height and weight; perform EKGs and POC tests.
• Collect specimens for lab, perform phlebotomy where required.
• Assist with treatments and prepare equipment; provide emotional support.
• Support unit secretary duties and telemetry monitoring as assigned.
• Restock supplies and maintain unit cleanliness and organization.
