Job summary

Intermountain Health Layton Hospital in Layton, UT seeks a Patient Care Technician to support the nurse team on the Medical and Surgical Unit. The role includes basic patient care duties, documentation, telemetry when required, and potential Health Unit Coordinator tasks.

Shifts are 36 hours per week, 3-12 hour nights 6 PM–6 AM, with emphasis on safety, teamwork, and compassionate patient contact. Required CNA certification (Utah), BLS, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in Utah; must be valid at start date.
• BLS for healthcare providers required.
• Basic computer literacy and strong communication skills.
• Utah CNA program verification and timely certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver basic patient care: toileting, bathing, mobility, comfort and supplies.
• Document patient data and report condition changes promptly.
• Monitor patients and collaborate with the care team on needs.
• Transport meds to RN and assist on the unit as needed.
• May perform Health Unit Coordinator tasks: phones, orders, records.
• Follow plan of care and safety protocols; respond to emergencies.
