Job summary

Intermountain Health Layton Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the Medical and Surgical Unit. The role supports the patient care team with routine tasks, monitoring, and communication, potentially assuming Health Unit Coordinator responsibilities as needed.

Ideal candidates hold a current Utah CNA and BLS certification, demonstrate strong computer literacy, and deliver excellent patient/family communication.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in the state where you practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
• Demonstrated basic computer literacy skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and deliver basic patient care including toileting, bathing, linen changes, and comfort measures.
• Document and report patient care findings in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the RN and interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
• May assist with Health Unit Coordinator duties including phone coverage and order transcription.
• Assist with transporting medications to the RN and other unit support tasks as delegated.
