Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health seeks a Patient Access Specialist for our Willow Park facility to manage patient registrations, verify insurance benefits, and collect out-of-pocket payments while delivering outstanding service.

The role requires meticulous data entry, good knowledge of payer plans, and adherence to EMTALA and HIPAA standards. Fluency in English is essential; Spanish is a plus in applicable markets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of patient registration and insurance verification in health care preferred.
• Experience with emergency department registration strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare and Medicaid plans.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between patient/family, payers, and hospital teams to secure reimbursements.
• Obtain, verify, and enter complete demographic information for accounts.
• Verify insurance benefits and ensure correct payor and plan are recorded.
• Assist in obtaining required insurance authorizations where applicable.
• Provide excellent customer service and protect patient safety on arrival.
• Maintain and file medical records and registrations per policy.
• Coordinate transfers and respond to records requests from patients and providers.
