Houston Methodist is seeking a Patient Access Associate to collect and enter patient demographics and insurance data in the EHR at various entry points. The role includes cashiering tasks, cash collection goals, and ensuring privacy and compliance with EMTALA and HIPAA.

The position requires excellent customer service, clear communication, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced hospital environment. Night shift, 30 hours/week, on-site in Nassau Bay, TX.

Competenze

• High School diploma or equivalent education.
• Two years of experience in a strong customer service environment.
• One year of registration experience in a hospital environment preferred.

Mansioni

• Obtains and records accurate demographic and insurance information on patients by interviewing patients, family members and physicians.
• Ensures that the correct insurance plan codes are utilized for the billing process.
• Explains consent forms, obtains signatures, and responds to questions in a professional manner.
• Balances cash drawer daily and posts receipts accurately.
• Maintains HIPAA privacy and confidentiality in all patient information.
