Responsibilities

• Obtains and records accurate demographic and insurance information from patients
• Performs cashiering and collects co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance
• Performs insurance verification to determine patient out-of-pocket costs
• Explains consent forms and obtains signatures
• Ensures EMTALA and HIPAA compliance
• Balances cash drawer and posts receipts daily
