Houston Methodist is seeking a Senior Patient Access Associate to gather accurate demographic and insurance information from patients at various entry points and input it into the EHR. The role includes cashiering, ensuring correct copayments, deductibles, and coinsurance, while maintaining privacy and compliance with Medicare guidelines.

The position requires strong customer service skills, the ability to work in multiple areas, and proficiency with multiple software programs.

Competenze

High school diploma or equivalent required (e.g., GED).
Four years of customer service experience, including two years in hospital registration.
Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations.
Knowledge of insurance procedures and EMTALA/HIPAA regulations.

Mansioni

Obtain and record accurate demographic and insurance information from patients and family members.
Explain consent forms and obtain signatures, addressing questions professionally.
Work across multiple departments and EHR queues related to patient access.
Contribute to patient experience and address issues; escalate with management when needed.
Maintain accuracy, privacy, and security of protected health information per HIPAA.
