Job summary

Emerus is seeking a Patient Access Specialist for night shifts to act as a liaison between patients, payers and the revenue cycle. You will verify demographics, secure payments, and coordinate with hospital teams to ensure accurate registrations.

The role requires handling insurance verification, authorizations, and maintaining detailed patient records while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1–2 years of patient registration and insurance verification in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare and Medicaid plans is required.
• Fluency in English; bilingual in Spanish is required in some markets.

Responsibilities

• Verify and enter complete demographic information for accounts.
• 2) Verify insurance benefits and correct payor and plan in the system.
• 3) Obtain insurance authorizations as required by plans.
• 4) Maximize collections by collecting at the point of service.
• 5) Maintain and file medical records and registrations.
