Emerus is seeking a Patient Access Specialist for night shift (7pm-7am) at a small-format hospital. You will serve as a liaison among patients, payers, and the Patient Financial Services team, collecting demographics and out-of-pocket responsibilities to maximize reimbursement.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance, obtaining authorizations, protecting patient safety, maintaining records, and coordinating transfers.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of patient registration and insurance verification experience preferred.
• Emergency Department registration experience preferred.
• Knowledge of various insurance plans (HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare, Medicaid) and payors required.
• Fluency in English; Spanish bilingualism preferred in El Paso market.

Responsabilidades

• Verify and enter complete and accurate patient demographics to facilitate the revenue cycle.
• Verify insurance benefits and payors for accounts and enter correct information in the patient accounting system.
• Obtain insurance authorizations as required by plans.
• Pursue collections at time of service maintaining excellent customer service.
• Scan registration and clinical documentation into the system and maintain medical records.
• Assist with transferring patients to other hospitals when necessary.
