Job summary
Electrical Automation Services is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer for a Glendale, AZ plant handling high-speed beverage filling and packaging lines. You will be the on-site controls expert, diagnosing and programming Allen‑Bradley PLCs during production on a 12-hour night rotation (6:00 PM–6:00 AM).
The role emphasizes automation improvements, mentoring maintenance staff, and uptime through ladder logic changes, HMI updates, and network fixes.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in engineering technology or related discipline.
- 4+ years of industrial automation on high-speed production lines.
- Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
- Excellent cross-functional communication across plant departments.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for automated processing and packaging equipment.
- Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and network issues and restore production safely.
- Identify recurring problems and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Lead controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
- Maintain documentation, drawings, and change records; support upgrades and commissioning.
