Job summary
Duke Raleigh Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for an inpatient medical oncology unit. The RN will provide professional nursing care on an oncology-focused 37-bed unit, with chemotherapy administration after training and a focus on symptom management and end-of-life care.
The role includes 12-hour shifts, weekend expectations, and ongoing education through the Duke Nurse Residency Program. A strong commitment to patient-centered care is essential in this Magnet-designated health system.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or higher) is required.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program is acceptable.
- BLS certification is required.
- Nurses with a compact license must obtain NC nursing license within 90 days of start.
- Enroll in and complete the Duke Nurse Residency Program within 12 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Plan and provide professional nursing care per physician orders and policies.
- Administer chemotherapy/immunotherapy after required education.
- Collaborate with pharmacy, case management, social work and other teams.
- Support in development of care plans and supervise junior nurses as needed.
- Maintain infection control, safety, and quality standards throughout shifts.
