Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to oversee unit staffing grids, manage the sick call line, and keep Kronos schedules up to date for 12-hour night shifts. You will support data entry for payroll and ensure overtime and time-off requests are authorized in a timely manner.

The role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency with Kronos, and experience with healthcare staffing processes.

Qualifications

Must be able to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques.
Knowledge of basic accounting and computer skills.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Good organizational and record maintenance skills.

Responsibilities

Review staffing grids and coordinate with units to ensure appropriate staffing at shift start.
Manage the sick call line for Nursing units.
Prepare daily sign-in sheets for staff using Kronos.
Update active schedule in Kronos with daily changes.
Assist with weekly data entry for Payroll.
Obtain management authorization for overtime, time-off, and shift trades.
Notify management of trends affecting staffing like absenteeism and overtime.
Cover staffing vacancies due to sick calls or leaves.
Maintain records for leaves, requests, and schedule changes.
Keep knowledge of current policies and practices.
