Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Patient Care Technician/Nurse Aide for a part-time night shift at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL. Two 12-hour shifts, 6:30 pm–7:00 am, with weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.

You will assist the RN with daily patient care, document vitals, participate in admissions/discharges, collect specimens, stock areas, and ensure patient safety and comfort in a busy telemetry unit.

Qualifications

• GED or HSED or high school diploma required.
• Basic computer skills and EMR documentation ability.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, and ambulation.
• Take and document vitals and I&O; record in EMR accurately.
• Perform rounding and communicate patient needs to RN.
• Support admission, transfer and discharge processes under RN supervision.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care tests as directed.
• Stock nursing area, transport supplies, and maintain clean work areas.
• Position patients properly and assist with transfers and nutrition.
