Job summary

Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL is seeking a Part-Time Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support the RN with daily patient care—bathing, feeding, positioning, and mobility—while documenting in the EMR and ensuring patient safety. This 24-hour-per-week role includes two 12-hour night shifts (6:30 pm–7:00 am) with rotating weekends and holidays.

Candidates must have a GED/HSED or high school diploma and a current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 45 days, plus Nurse Aide

Qualifications

• BLS certification to be obtained within 45 days.
• Nurse Aide in good standing indicated with the State Registry.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily patient care including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation.
• Measures and documents vital signs and input/output in EMR.
• Performs rounding and communicates observations to RN.
• Participates in admission/transfer/discharge under RN supervision.
• Collects specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Runs errands, stocks nursing area, cleans equipment and work areas.
• Maintains skin care and positioning to support age-specific patient needs.
